Background Information
On Black Friday, a virus spreads across the United States resulting in the collapse of the United States Government within five days; basic services (Water, Electricity, Gas, Major Transportation) fall one by one, chaos quickly spreads throughout the country. In the aftermath, it is discovered that virus was transmitted though paper currency. A classified unit is assembled as a last resort, agents (players) are part of self-supported tactical team, better known as “Strategic Homeland Division (SHD)”, or “The Division”. SHD agents lives seem ordinary, when all else fails they have en-depth training to operate independently. With direction from the President of the United States the SHD has the authority to do what is necessary to halt the fall of society and rebuild the city due to the new threats that the outbreak has created. SHD agents will find themselves throughout the game, caught between a worldwide conspiracy forcing them into combat with threats of the virus and those who unleashed it.
