Starcraft 2 beta and BF BC 2 problem

So...anyone else got an invitation? (dunno who would have got one or not) gotta say though, i'm having a few problems getting it, i can't actually download the client and it only seems to be happening for the Starcrtaft games, i can get WoW and D2 fine -.-
So if anyone has got this, i'd be interested to know if you managed to download it successfully, or if it's just this stupid uni network being a pain in the ass.

Whilst i'm at it, anyone playing Bad Company 2 over the uni network? For some reason mine won't work, and i'm just curious to see if there is anyone else managing to play it over the uni network

I can't get BF BC2 to work over the uni network either.

It comes up with the same message about "Needs an internet connection" every time I try to run an EA game I've just installed when I use the uni network. I believe its something to do with EA online activation. Annoying but fortunately I'm going home in a few weeks so I should be able to get it working there. If you know some people living in town you could try and steal their internet to get it working at least for the first time and see if you still have a problem.

Well that sucks >.< Anyone know if there's a fix we can do to get past it? Or is it just the uni network being a pain in the ass -.- which i'm guessing is the case for my SC2 beta key *sigh*

I think some people tried using programs to force another to use a proxy (widecap/freecap) but without much success. Unless anyone wants to correct me the only way is to find a connection off campus to register then come back on. As far as I know the EA games refuse to use a proxy for activation but for actually finding games there isn't a problem. Also once it has been activated it shouldn't need to do so again (barring reinstall of course).

Well i'd have a hard time moving my desktop but if i install BC2 on my laptop and register it off campus would i be able to play it on my desktop?
If so, i'm going home at the end of term, so i can do it then

I can confirm that I had to tunnel through an SSH connection to activate BC2.
Is it possible you'd be able to play it by choosing 'disc authentication' as opposed to 'internet authentication' when installing?

It'd be a hassle to reinstall though (and again later, at home, if you wanted to change it back to internet auth to get it working without the disc).

Well i can't do that even if i wanted to (I got it off steam cos i'm clever -.-) if you could throw me some info for trying to get through stupid resnet so i can activate it it would be appreciated, though i am going home on monday, and if i activate it there and it'll let me play here (even though i'd be activating it on my laptop) there's no need to bother trying to tunnel through

Scratch that, the BC2 problem has been fixed and it is now magically working (Have resnet finally done somehting about EA? :O) Either way i don't care, i can play BC2 now and i'm a happy bunny, now if only i can get my SC2 beta to work

Late reply, sorry about that.
I think it may have been fixed because they removed the SecuROM activation from the Steam version (since it was never really necessary). Just a guess.
